BIOGRAPHY
Riccardo Gresino was born in Cuorgnè, Italy, on December 7th, 1992. At the age of 23, he completed the Master's Program in Jazz Piano at the "A. Vivaldi" Conservatory of Music in Alessandria, Italy, graduating with the highest honors. In the same year, he was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, after attending Berklee Clinics at Umbria Jazz17 in Perugia, Italy. Following three years in Boston, he graduated with a degree in Piano Performance, earning top marks, and he is currently pursuing his career in Los Angeles, CA.
Known for his consistently utmost quality, Riccardo’s artistry is proven in performances and recordings with established musicians such as Rubel (Latin Grammy-nominated), Poe, Presley Tennant, SESSI, Anna Margo, Tristan Simone, Gianni Coscia (ECM Records), AM Dandy (HMMA 2020/2021 & HMMA 2019) and many more.
He also internationally toured as the music director & keyboard player for "The Life and Music of George Michael" US & AUS Tour 2022-2024.
Furthermore, Riccardo has served as a resident pianist for Stregatti, an Italian theatrical troupe known for their performances in "La Ragazza con le Ali," "I Meravigliosi Animali di Stranalandia," and "La Masnà." In 2018, he relocated to Boston where he co-founded the Jazz-Groove collective "Rocket House" alongside Francesco Staccioli. In 2020, he released his debut EP "Reflection," followed by "Floodlight" in 2022 under OVR. Riccardo has been collaborating and producing with Spanish artist Tristan Simone since 2019 and together they released singles "Higher than This" and "Music is Dead". Their new album "Good Grief" is coming out in November 2024 as an intimate, cinematic, and heartbreaking journey.
Riccardo is voting member of Grammy Recording Academy and GRAMMY U mentor since 2023.
His style is a nicely balanced and extremely personal blend of all his working experiences, and makes him one of the most requested young session players in Los Angeles.
